Why should you Power Wash your House?
- Power Washing is a key element to getting the most longevity of out of any exterior paint job. All exterior surfaces of a home need to be power washed every year to keep the painted surfaces free of mold, mildew, dirt, pollen, and debris. Mold, mildew, and dirt on a house speed up the breakdown of the paint that is on the exterior of your house. Once the paint has broken down over time it exposes the bare wood to the elements of nature. When the bare wood is exposed the wood itself starts to break down and rot, causing expensive carpentry repairs that were unnecessary and could have been prevented. CLH Painting power washes every exterior before painting as a necessary step in the painting process.
Why Choose CLH to Power Wash your House?
- Unlike many of our competitors CLH Painting uses low PSI power washing and commercial cleaning produts. The commercial cleaning produts we use are stronger than household cleaning products that you would buy at Home Depot or Lowes. But don't be concerned, the products we use are not harmful to plants, animals, or foliage surrounding the house. We use Low PSI Power Washing that protects all painted surfaces from the chance of blasting off good paint from existing surfaces.
What is Low PSI Power Washing?
- CLH Painting & Power Washing uses only Low PSI Power Washing when Power Washing our clients exteriors. PSI stands for "Pounds per Square Inch" and your most common pressure washer is 2500 to 4000 PSI. Low PSI Power Washing is when the cleaning chemical does the work not the high pressure of the pressure washer. Typically you need to use high PSI to remove dirt from driveways, walkways and brick. But you would not use this kind of pressure on any painted surfaces on the exterior of a house. We apply our chemicals in such a way that the water going on the house is not much stronger than the stream of a garden hose. This eliminates the chance of water being blasted through windows and doors and into the house. It also prevents good paint being peeled off by the pressure of the water.
What should you expect once your house is power washed?
- You should expect your house to be free of mold, mildew, dirt, and debris and the house should look clean in appearance. It is a good rule of thumb that your house should be Power Washed every 12 to 18 months.
